Joanna Griffin
Joanna Griffin was trained at Regents College, School of Psychotherapy and Counselling Psychology in Integrative Psychotherapy, which encompasses the theory, methodology and practice of psychoanalytic, existential and humanistic approaches.
Her psychotherapeutic work is also influenced by, and includes techniques such as breath work, visualisation and concentration exercises inspired by, the DeRose Method, which Joanna studies and practices.
Joanna works in private practice in Central London and South Kensington with clients with a variety of presenting issues including relationship/family difficulties, low self esteem, depression, anxiety, fear, psychosomatic disorders and bereavement.
Prior to working in private practice and co-founding Integrated Life Joanna was Business Director of a leading international treatment centre. As such she has a strong working knowledge of addictions, eating disorders, compulsive behaviours and related/ co-morbid diagnoses, and their relevant treatment modalities, in particular the twelve step model.
Joanna is currently writing a research thesis on the neurophysiology of psychotherapy and plans to continue to build her portfolio of academic work in the hope of learning and discovering innovative and effective ways to address psychological, psychosomatic and behavioural health issues and to enhance the health, vitality and quality of life of as wide a spectrum of people as possible.
Joanna is a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy.
